About Merna Horthy
Initially a physiotherapist particularly interested in the rehabilitation of sports injuries and neurological conditions, I retrained as an osteopath in my late twenties. I have a keen interest in all aspects of osteopathy but particularly cranial osteopathy which is so useful in the treatment of babies and children. A long period of postgraduate training in cranial osteopathy led to fellowship of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, where I am on the faculty as an assistant tutor. I am also a member of both the General Osteopathic Council and the Institute of Osteopathy.
Letters after a name can sometimes prove confusing, and so you may like to know my qualifications: BSc Hons (Ost): this was a four year full time degree course with honours at the British School of Osteopathy in Central London. Grad Dip Phys: I graduated from St.Thomas' School of Physiotherpapy, Westminster and was a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy for many years. FSCCO: I am a fellow of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, and I'm currently on their faculty as an assistant tutor.
